1500 HP Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Spotted Ahead of March Launch

Xiaomi’s high-performance SU7 Ultra electric sedans, delivering an astonishing 1,526 horsepower, have been sighted at the company’s Beijing factory, hinting at the imminent commencement of mass production.

These recent developments come as excitement grows ahead of the vehicle’s official sales launch and deliveries scheduled for next month. With the SU7 Ultra already recognized as the fastest four-door car, its factory appearances suggest Xiaomi is gearing up for substantial demand.

The SU7 Ultra is an upgraded version of the standard Xiaomi SU7, with pre-sales starting on October 29 at a premium price of 814,900 yuan (approximately $113,200 USD).

Despite its high cost, the electric sedan secured an impressive 3,680 orders within just 10 minutes of its debut. Deliveries are expected to begin in March, and the recent factory sightings indicate Xiaomi’s preparedness to fulfill the demand efficiently.

Leaked images from the Beijing plant show multiple SU7 Ultra models, featuring distinctive design elements such as a sporty front bumper with a prominent spoiler, enhanced braking systems, an exclusive yellow paint finish with white “Ultra” stripes, an extended rear spoiler, and a slightly wider body.

While Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the mass production commencement, the presence of numerous units strongly suggests that large-scale manufacturing is already in progress. This follows a similar approach seen with the standard SU7, which entered mass production in February last year before launching in March.

Interestingly, Xiaomi’s Beijing facility is already experiencing challenges in keeping up with the demand for the standard SU7, with current delivery wait times ranging from 21 to 29 weeks (5-7 months) post-order.

While the regular SU7 delivers 664 horsepower and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.78 seconds, Xiaomi has positioned it as more suitable for everyday driving rather than high-intensity track performance, citing braking concerns during track tests.

In contrast, the SU7 Ultra is engineered for track dominance. Its tri-motor setup generates 1,526 hp and 1,770 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in an astonishing 1.98 seconds.

The model is equipped with the largest carbon ceramic brake discs ever fitted to a sports car, featuring Akebono six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers designed to endure temperatures exceeding 1,300 degrees Celsius.

Powered by a 93.7 kWh ternary NMC battery from CATL, the SU7 Ultra supports a 5.2C DC fast charging system (approx. 490 kW), enabling a 10-80% charge in just 11 minutes. It also boasts a CLTC-rated range of 620 km.

To further enhance aerodynamics, the SU7 Ultra incorporates a large rear spoiler generating 285 kg of downforce. Measuring 5115/1970/1465 mm with a 3000 mm wheelbase, it weighs 2,360 kg, making it 150 kg lighter than the BMW M5 G90. With its launch, the SU7 Ultra is set to make waves in the high-performance electric sedan segment.
