Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone, reportedly called the iPhone Ultra, has surfaced again in a fresh leak revealing its possible design and hardware details. The upcoming foldable smartphone is expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup during Apple’s September launch event.
The latest leak comes from a case manufacturer, which appears to have revealed the device’s design through newly surfaced renders showing the foldable from multiple angles.
Foldable iPhone Design Revealed in Case Leak
According to the leaked renders, the iPhone Ultra may feature a slim foldable body with a premium black finish. The images also suggest that Apple’s foldable phone might not include built-in MagSafe support, meaning users could require a compatible case for magnetic wireless charging.
The leaked design shows the volume buttons placed along the top edge of the device, while the power button appears on the right side. A noticeable cutout below the power button is believed to be reserved for an antenna band.
On the back, the foldable iPhone seems to feature a dual-camera setup housed inside a camera module similar to the design language used in the iPhone Air series.
iPhone Ultra Expected to Feature Large Foldable Display
Reports suggest the iPhone Ultra will measure just 4.7mm thick when unfolded and around 9.23mm when folded, making it one of Apple’s thinnest devices yet.
The device is rumored to include a 5.5-inch outer cover display along with a larger 7.8-inch inner folding screen. The wider aspect ratio is expected to provide an improved multitasking and media viewing experience.
Apple is reportedly working on minimizing the display crease, which has been a major challenge for foldable smartphones across the industry.
Powerful Hardware and Touch ID Rumored
In terms of specifications, the iPhone Ultra is tipped to feature Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chipset for flagship-level performance and efficiency.
The foldable may also include a 48MP primary rear camera and a battery capacity of around 5,500mAh. Another notable rumor suggests Apple could bring back Touch ID through a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.
While Apple has not officially confirmed the foldable iPhone, leaks and supply chain reports continue to point toward a launch later this year alongside the iPhone 18 series.
