Apple commits up to $100 million to titanium supplier Perryman and expands its Qnity Electronics partnership to support advanced camera technology and American jobs.
CUPERTINO, California: Apple has announced expanded partnerships with US manufacturers Perryman Company and Qnity Electronics to supply critical materials and components for its iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro devices.
The initiatives form part of Apple’s American Manufacturing Programme (AMP), which supports the company’s four-year, $600 billion commitment to US manufacturing and innovation.
Apple will commit up to $100 million over three years to Perryman, a Pennsylvania-based titanium producer, to supply material for products including the foldable iPhone Duo. The company’s Houston facility produces grade 5 titanium containing at least 80 per cent recycled content.
Apple is also expanding its partnership with Delaware-headquartered Qnity Electronics to manufacture advanced films for the variable aperture camera system in the iPhone 18 Pro. The technology supports light and depth control for the device’s 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera.
Apple said nearly 100 components in the two devices are produced by American companies, with suppliers across more than a dozen states. Its manufacturing network includes Broadcom, Corning, Coherent, TSMC and Amkor Technology.
By the end of 2026, Corning’s Kentucky facility is expected to produce all cover glass for iPhones and Apple Watches sold worldwide, including glass for iPhone Duo.
Apple also highlighted its Advanced Manufacturing Center in Houston, where engineers train small and medium-sized businesses in advanced manufacturing processes.
The company said the partnerships support domestic employment, greater use of recycled materials and its goal of achieving carbon neutrality across its entire footprint by 2030.
