Today (May 3, 2023), the Regional Office of Banking Mohtasib Pakistan at SBP BSC, Muzaffarabad premises was officially inaugurated by the Managing Director of State Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation, Muhammad Ashraf Khan.
During his speech, he praised the important role of Banking Mohtasib Pakistan in resolving the grievances of banking customers. The participants were also briefed by Muhammad Kamran Shehzad, Banking Mohtasib Pakistan, on the complaint resolution statistics and the procedures followed by the institution.
After a soft opening on November 1, 2022, the Office has now commenced its operations fully, and it is expected to provide further assistance to complainants from Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and its neighboring areas.
Prior to the establishment of this office, banking customers from these areas had to travel to Rawalpindi to resolve their grievances. This Office is the seventh Regional Office of BMP, along with the Secretariat in Karachi.
It is important to note that the services of Banking Mohtasib are free of cost, and the complainants do not need to seek the assistance of an advocate or legal counsel to present their cases.
Representatives from the Business Community, Academia, Banking Industry, and District Bar Association were present among others during the inauguration ceremony.
