Beep Pakistan Launched for Secured Communications

Islamabad, August 7, 2023 – Pakistan’s first-ever communication application, “Beep Pakistan,” was officially launched by the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Syed Amin Ul Haque, in a ceremony held on Monday.

The event also marked the inauguration of the new web version of E-office. Developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB), Beep Pakistan aims to optimize communication and operational efficiency within government organizations.

During the inaugural ceremony, Federal Minister Syed Amin Ul Haque highlighted the key features of Beep Pakistan, which include secure document sharing, messaging, quick audio and video calls, and conference calling options. Emphasizing the application’s security, he assured that all data would be securely hosted within Pakistan.

Initially, the Beep Pakistan application will undergo a one-month test run, exclusively available to government officers and officials. After successful implementation at the government level, the application will be made available to the general public after one year. This strategic approach ensures that the communication platform is thoroughly tested and refined before widespread public use.

The primary goal of Beep Pakistan is to revolutionize the way government employees communicate and enhance their productivity through the adoption of modern and efficient e-governance practices. By facilitating secure and efficient digital communication among government officials and employees, the application aims to streamline administrative processes and improve overall governance.

In his speech, Syed Amin Ul Haque expressed his delight at taking another significant stride towards achieving a more efficient and sustainable government. He also praised the efforts of the National Information Technology Board for their dedication and commitment to the development of the Beep Pakistan application.

CEO of the National Information Technology Board, Babar Majeed Bhatti, MD NTC Meraj Gul, and Additional Secretary of MoITT, Ms. Aisha Humera Moriani, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of digitalization in Pakistan. They reaffirmed the Ministry of IT’s commitment to fulfilling the vision of a digitally empowered Pakistan and bridging the digital divide.

The ceremony was attended by officers from the Ministry of IT, heads of its attached departments, and other dignitaries. A detailed presentation on the features and capabilities of Beep Pakistan was also provided during the event, showcasing the application’s potential to transform communication within the government and beyond. With Beep Pakistan’s launch, Pakistan takes a significant step towards embracing modern communication technology and strengthening its e-governance capabilities.
