Cambridge International Education has confirmed that A Level Mathematics Paper 32 and Paper 12 in the June 2026 examination series will be conducted in the PM session under enhanced security arrangements.
The announcement follows the discovery that a question paper from the June 2026 series had been shared online before the examination took place, breaching Cambridge regulations. In response, the examination board has introduced additional measures to protect the integrity of the assessment process and ensure fairness for all candidates.
Paper 32 is scheduled for June 8, 2026, while Paper 12 will take place on June 9, 2026. Both examinations will be held during the afternoon (PM) session.
Replacement Question Papers to Be Used Worldwide
Cambridge stated that all candidates registered for the affected examinations will sit replacement question papers. The board emphasized that replacing the compromised paper is the most effective way to ensure no student benefits unfairly from malpractice.
According to Cambridge, this approach will allow all candidates to receive fair, reliable, and internationally recognized grades that universities and employers can trust.
Enhanced Security Measures Introduced
To prevent unauthorized access, the replacement papers will be distributed to examination centres through a secure digital platform. Centres will only be permitted to download and print the papers at the official Key Time.
Cambridge explained that Key Time ensures all candidates worldwide either begin the examination simultaneously or remain under Full Centre Supervision, reducing the risk of information being shared before the exam.
Guidance for Candidates on Exam Day
Students have been advised to arrive at their examination centres according to instructions provided by their schools or examination officers. Cambridge also warned that candidates should be prepared for longer periods of supervision, as additional security checks may extend the examination-day process.
Candidates must follow invigilators’ instructions, comply with supervision requirements, and avoid any behaviour that could disrupt the examination environment.
Cambridge Thanks Students and Parents
Cambridge acknowledged that the new arrangements may add extra time to candidates’ day but stressed that the measures are necessary to maintain the credibility of the June 2026 examination series.
The examination board thanked students, parents, and schools for their patience and cooperation, stating that the enhanced security procedures are designed to ensure every candidate receives a fair and valid result.
