Cambridge International Education has confirmed that it is investigating reports of an alleged question paper leak ahead of the June 2026 examination series, stating that further updates will be shared after the completion of exams.
In an official statement, the board said: “We are aware of news about a reported leak of a question paper. We investigate such reports thoroughly.”
Allegations of Early Paper Circulation
The controversy involves the Advanced Subsidiary Mathematics Paper 1, reportedly coded as Pure Mathematics 1 (9707) / Mathematics (9709) Paper 12, which was allegedly circulated online before the scheduled exam.

According to circulating claims, the paper appeared on social media in both solved and unsolved formats, with some reports suggesting it was shared several hours before the examination.
Student Concerns Over Fairness
Multiple students claimed that the paper had been accessible online nearly two hours before the exam began. After completing the test, some candidates said they realized the same questions had already been shared earlier on social platforms.
The incident has sparked frustration among students, with many questioning the fairness of the examination process.
“We worked hard for months, only to feel like the system has failed us again,” one student said.
Rising Concerns Over Exam Security
This is not the first such incident. A similar controversy emerged during the May/June 2025 session involving a leaked AS Level Mathematics paper, raising ongoing concerns about examination integrity.
However, students argue that the current situation appears more severe, with claims that an entire paper may have been leaked in advance rather than isolated questions.
Digital Age Challenges in Exam Integrity
The alleged leak has reignited debate over exam security in an increasingly digital environment, where sensitive materials can circulate rapidly online.
Questions remain over how such materials were allegedly accessed and distributed before official exam timings.
Call for Transparency and Action
Students and stakeholders are urging Cambridge International Education to ensure a transparent investigation and take strict action if malpractice is confirmed.
Concerns have also been raised about whether retakes or alternative assessments may be considered if the allegations are proven true.
