The actress and model opens up about self-acceptance, personal freedom, the queer community and expressing her identity through fashion in a Calvin Klein campaign.
Cara Delevingne has described love as something that ‘encapsulates everything about life’, sharing her thoughts on self-acceptance, personal growth and individuality in a new Calvin Klein promotional video.
The actress and model discussed what inspires her, explaining that love encompasses both positive and difficult experiences, including life’s highs and lows.
“Love, to me, encapsulates everything about life: the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful, the magnificent. Just the highs and the lows, I guess. It teaches you about yourself,” Delevingne said.
The 33-year-old also reflected on her journey towards embracing her authentic self, admitting that she was once afraid to express her true identity.
She observed that younger generations appear more confident about being themselves and are less willing to change to meet other people’s expectations.
“I think, what I didn’t have, at least, is younger people today are so much more who they are and they’re not going to change for anyone,” she explained.
Delevingne added that society now offers greater freedom for people to express themselves, although significant challenges and struggles remain.
She also praised the queer community, saying its members continue to inspire her.
Fashion, meanwhile, remains another important outlet for the model to communicate her personality and feelings. She described clothing as a clever way to make a statement, reflecting her ever-changing approach to personal style.
“I don’t really care, slash I do really care, slash whatever I feel that day,” she said.
Through her latest campaign, Delevingne highlights the importance of individuality, confidence and embracing every aspect of life.
