Karachi, August 4, 2023 – The Karachi Port Trust has once again demonstrated its efficiency and productivity by handling a substantial amount of cargo during the past 24 hours, ending at 0700 hours.

The port handled a total of 164,925 tons of cargo, out of which 129,177 tons were imports, and 35,748 tons were exports.

The import cargo, which amounted to 129,177 tons, comprised a diverse range of goods. The largest portion was containerized cargo, amounting to 61,540 tons. Additionally, the port handled 3,566 tons of chickpeas, 10,000 tons of iron ore, 99,071 tons of rock phosphate, and 45,000 tons of oil and liquid cargo.

On the export side, a total of 35,748 tons of cargo were processed for shipment to international destinations. Among these exports, 22,848 tons were containerized cargo, while 12,900 tons were oil and liquid cargo.

As of the latest report, there are five vessels currently berthed at the Karachi Port Trust. These vessels are the Clemens Schulte, Msc Tia II, OOCL Savannah, Atlantic 22, and LR1 Charm. Each of these ships plays a crucial role in facilitating the movement of goods and ensuring a smooth cargo handling process.

Additionally, two ships have successfully completed their operations and sailed from the port. The Syenergy Oakland and Chemroad Wing have concluded their time at the Karachi Port, and they are now en route to their respective destinations.
