Dua Lipa reflects on her surprise Madrid performance with Shakira, describing the emotional duet as a moment when they and the audience felt like “one”.

Dua Lipa is still celebrating her surprise performance with Shakira in Madrid, describing the emotional collaboration as a moment when the two singers and the audience felt like “one”.

Hours after their unexpected rendition of Antología captured widespread attention online, the Grammy-winning pop star took to Instagram on Sunday, 4 October, to reflect on the special evening.

Dua shared a carousel of photographs featuring moments from the stage, solo snaps and behind-the-scenes memories with the Colombian superstar.

“A night in Madrid with @Shakira,” the Training Season hitmaker wrote before thanking Shakira for inviting her to join the concert.

“Thank you for inviting me to go on stage with you to sing Antología!!” Dua added, expressing her appreciation for the opportunity.

The singer said she felt that “you, me and the audience were one”, highlighting the emotional impact of the unexpected collaboration.

She concluded her post by saying she was “so grateful” to take home such a beautiful memory.

The performance marked the first time Dua Lipa and Shakira had shared the stage for a live performance, making the surprise appearance particularly memorable for fans of both artists.

The choice of song also carried special significance. Shakira originally released Antología in 1995 as part of her album Pies Descalzos.

Dua has previously performed her own version of the Spanish-language ballad during a concert in Bogotá in 2025. Shakira had publicly praised that rendition, adding another connection between the two stars before their Madrid performance.

The surprise duet has since given fans a memorable meeting between two generations of global pop stars, with Dua’s heartfelt reaction underscoring the significance of sharing the stage with Shakira.
