Emirates Becomes Main Sponsor of King Salman Cup 2023

Emirates, a renowned name in sports sponsorship, has officially partnered with the King Salman Club Cup 2023 as its Main Sponsor and Official Airline.

The collaboration aligns with Emirates’ commitment to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to establish the country as a global hub for professional sports. This strategic alliance emphasizes the airline’s dedication to engaging with fans of the 16 top-tier regional clubs from across the Arab World, who will be participating in this prestigious tournament. The announcement was made during a press conference held in Jeddah.

Jabr Al-Azeeby, Emirates’ Vice President for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Emirates has a strong presence in sports, particularly football, where we strive to connect fans with the game beyond mere logo recognition. By supporting the King Salman Cup 2023, we aim to engage with football enthusiasts in new frontiers. We are proud to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s ambition of becoming a global powerhouse in professional sports, as it already demonstrates its prominence across various sports on the international stage. During the tournament, we look forward to creating unique opportunities and experiences in collaboration with the top-tier clubs from the Arab World.”

His Excellency Abdullah bin Saeed Aldalac, Vice President of the Saudi Sports Ministry, welcomed the partnership, acknowledging its valuable addition to the championship.

As part of the sponsorship deal, Emirates will enjoy extensive brand visibility within the stadiums and various touchpoints of the King Salman Cup. The tournament is scheduled to commence on July 27th and will continue until August 12th, taking place across Abha, Albaha, and Ta’if stadiums.

Emirates will also receive promotional opportunities and hospitality rights on-site. Additionally, the airline will benefit from digital rights on the tournament channels and have the honor of presenting the trophy during the final match.

The King Salman Cup 2023, celebrating its 30th season, is the official club championship of the Arab World, organized by the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA). The tournament will witness 16 clubs, representing the top of their respective leagues from the GCC and North Africa, competing in 31 matches to claim the coveted title of champions.

The final match will be held at The King Fahed Stadium in Ta’if. A total prize money of USD $10 million will be awarded throughout the tournament. Prominent clubs from Saudi Arabia, including Al Hilal and Al Nasr, will participate alongside Al Zamalek, Al Wihda, Kuwait Club, Al Rajaa (current champions), Shabab Bluzad, and others from the region.

Football holds a significant place in Emirates’ sponsorship portfolio, evident through their enduring partnerships with prominent football clubs and major tournaments. The airline proudly sponsors renowned European and international clubs such as AC Milan, Real Madrid, Benfica SL, Arsenal FC, and Olympique Lyonnaise.

Emirates is also the Title Sponsor of The Emirates FA Cup. Recently, the airline entered a sponsorship agreement with Etoile Sportive du Sahel, a highly decorated football and basketball club in Tunisia. Moreover, Emirates supports the Arabian Pro-League in the UAE and the Asian Football Confederation.

Having operated flights to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 1989, Emirates serves Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, and Dammam, with a total of 67 weekly flights across these four destinations.

The airline’s commitment to Saudi Arabia is evident through its continuous efforts to meet growing passenger demand and enhance customer experience. For instance, Emirates introduced the A380, its latest flagship product, to provide travelers with top-notch amenities.
