England wrapped up a commanding 3-0 T20I series victory over Sri Lanka after securing an eight-wicket win in the third and final match at Old Trafford on Saturday. The hosts followed their victories in the first two games with another convincing all-round performance.

Sri Lanka Bowled Out for 124

After winning the toss, England captain Harry Brook opted to field first, and the decision quickly proved effective. Sri Lanka struggled to build momentum and were dismissed for 124 in 18.5 overs.

Pathum Nissanka provided the visitors with their highest score, striking 36 from 24 balls. Kusal Mendis also contributed 35 off 28 deliveries, but the Sri Lankan batting lineup failed to produce a substantial partnership.

Captain Charith Asalanka scored 16, while Dasun Shanaka and Lahiru Udara added 12 and 10 respectively. Sonny Baker, Jofra Archer and Will Jacks claimed two wickets each for England, while Jamie Overton and Liam Dawson took one apiece.

Baker Earns Player of the Match

Baker was rewarded with the Player of the Match award after producing economical figures of 2/17 from 3.5 overs. His disciplined spell played an important role in restricting Sri Lanka to a below-par total.

Buttler Leads Easy Chase

England made the chase look effortless, reaching 125 with only two wickets down and 62 deliveries remaining.

Jos Buttler produced the standout batting display, smashing an unbeaten 62 from just 32 balls. His innings featured seven fours and two sixes as he controlled the chase from the top of the order.

Harry Brook also played a key role, scoring 33 from 21 balls with three fours and a six. He added 85 runs with Buttler for the second wicket before being run out.

Tharindu Ratnayake was Sri Lanka’s only successful bowler, dismissing Aneurin Donald for 13 from six balls. England comfortably completed the chase to finish the series with a comprehensive 3-0 clean sweep.
