FIA recovers Rs220 million defaulted bank loan in Islamabad banking inquiry

Commercial Banking Circle Islamabad secures full recovery of loan from M/s Zubair Feeds (Pvt.) Ltd. during investigation into alleged loan default.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Commercial Banking Circle Islamabad has successfully recovered a defaulted bank loan amounting to Rs220 million from M/s Zubair Feeds (Pvt.) Ltd. during an investigation into an alleged loan default case.

According to FIA officials, the recovery was made during Inquiry No. 98/2025, which was launched following a complaint submitted by Salman Arif on behalf of Habib Metropolitan Bank Limited. The inquiry focused on the non-payment of a loan obtained by the company from the bank.

Officials said the investigation was carried out by the FIA Commercial Banking Circle Islamabad as part of its efforts to address financial irregularities and ensure accountability in the banking sector.

During the course of the inquiry, the agency pursued the matter and facilitated the recovery of the outstanding amount.

The FIA confirmed that the entire loan amount of Rs220 million, equivalent to Rs22 crore, has been recovered in full.

Habib Metropolitan Bank Limited has officially verified that the loan has been completely repaid and that no outstanding liability remains against the borrower.

Details shared by the FIA indicate that the recovery was achieved under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Kashif Mahmood, who served as the investigation officer in the case.

The agency highlighted the achievement as a significant success for its Commercial Banking Circle in Islamabad.

The recovered amount was linked to a loan facility availed by M/s Zubair Feeds (Pvt.) Ltd., and the inquiry was initiated after concerns were raised regarding repayment obligations.

FIA officials stated that the successful conclusion of the case demonstrates the agency’s commitment to protecting the integrity of Pakistan’s banking system.

The agency further emphasized that such actions help strengthen public confidence in financial institutions and support efforts to maintain transparency and accountability in commercial banking matters.

The FIA reiterated its resolve to continue taking action against financial misconduct and loan default cases in accordance with the law.
