Domestic bullion rates decline as international gold prices slip to $4,375 per ounce.
KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan declined by Rs4,000 over two days, with the latest decrease recorded on Saturday, August 15, 2026, as international bullion rates also edged lower.
According to market data, the price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs500 to Rs459,936 per tola, compared with Rs460,436 recorded in the previous trading session.
Similarly, the price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams decreased by Rs429 to Rs394,320, down from Rs394,749 in the previous session.
The latest decline extends the downward movement in Pakistan’s bullion market after gold prices ended an eight-day winning streak earlier this week. The precious metal has subsequently remained under pressure as international gold rates softened.
In the international bullion market, gold prices declined by $5 per ounce to $4,375, compared with the previous close of $4,380 per ounce.
The movement in global gold prices continued to influence domestic bullion rates, with local prices generally tracking changes in the international market.
Despite the recent decline, gold prices remain significantly higher than levels seen earlier in the month. The precious metal witnessed a strong rally during the first half of August, with domestic prices reaching record levels amid a sharp increase in international bullion rates.
The recent correction, however, indicates some easing in buying pressure as global gold prices consolidate after their earlier gains.
Market participants are expected to closely monitor international bullion prices, currency movements and developments in global financial markets for further direction in domestic gold rates.
The price of gold in Pakistan is also influenced by fluctuations in the international bullion market and changes in the rupee-dollar exchange rate. Any significant movement in either factor could affect domestic gold prices in the coming sessions.
