Google is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated Pixel 10 series on August 20, and while the design may closely resemble last year’s Pixel 9 lineup, exciting internal upgrades are set to redefine the user experience.

According to recent leaks, the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro will introduce a host of improvements, headlined by a new Tensor G5 chipset.

Unlike previous Tensor chips, the Tensor G5 will be manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung. This shift is expected to deliver enhanced performance, greater efficiency, and improved battery life.

Additionally, Google is reportedly adding gimbal-like camera stabilization, which should offer smoother video and sharper images — a major upgrade for mobile photography enthusiasts.

One of the standout features this year is Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging support. For the first time, Google Pixel phones will include built-in magnets, similar to Apple’s MagSafe. The tech giant is also introducing a new line of magnetic accessories under the trademark Pixelsnap.

At launch, at least three Pixelsnap accessories are expected:

A magnetic wireless charger

A charger with an integrated stand

A “Ring Stand” — a magnetic stand without an included charger

These accessories will support Hub Mode, turning the Pixel 10 into a smart display while charging, much like Apple’s StandBy Mode for iPhones.

Another hardware upgrade includes the ConvenientPower CPS4041 chip, which supports wireless charging up to 60W. However, Google may limit actual speeds, so final performance details are still under wraps.

Color options are also getting a refresh. Codenames like “Rock Candy” and “Mist” are expected to become Light Porcelain and a new version of Obsidian, giving the Pixel 10 lineup a refined aesthetic.

With a powerful new chip, smarter wireless charging, and enhanced camera tech, the Pixel 10 series looks ready to compete head-to-head with Apple and Samsung. Stay tuned for the official reveal on August 20.
