GTA 6 trailer 3 could arrive in August, analyst predicts

Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson believes Rockstar may unveil a new GTA 6 trailer ahead of Take-Two’s earnings call.

Fans eagerly awaiting another look at Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) may not have to wait much longer, as industry insider Tom Henderson believes Rockstar Games could unveil the game’s third trailer in early August.

Speaking on a recent podcast, the Insider Gaming journalist said he expects GTA 6 trailer 3 to debut around August 6, potentially aligning with Take-Two Interactive’s upcoming earnings call.

Henderson stressed that he does not have confirmed information about the date and described it as an informed prediction based on Rockstar’s previous marketing strategies. According to him, the company has historically timed major announcements around investor presentations and financial updates.

Rockstar has remained largely silent since releasing the second GTA 6 trailer in May 2025, leaving fans eager for another official update as the game’s launch approaches.

The first trailer, released in December 2023, became a record-breaking success, attracting more than 93 million YouTube views within its first 24 hours, making it the most-watched non-music video game reveal on the platform at the time.

The second trailer generated even greater overall engagement, reportedly reaching around 475 million views across multiple platforms within a single day, although it did not surpass the original trailer’s YouTube record.

Both trailers primarily showcased cinematic scenes, prompting many fans to hope the next reveal will finally include extended gameplay footage.

Rockstar previously confirmed that the visuals featured in the first trailer were captured entirely using the game’s engine rather than pre-rendered cinematics, helping raise expectations for the final product.

However, a former Rockstar Games developer recently cautioned players that trailer footage typically represents a highly polished version of the game and may differ from the final experience when it launches.

GTA 6 is currently scheduled for release on November 19, following two delays from its original 2025 launch window.

With only a few months remaining before release, many analysts believe Rockstar’s full marketing campaign is expected to intensify soon. Pre-orders have reportedly been available since late June, with industry reports suggesting PlayStation 5 pre-orders are significantly outperforming those for Xbox, by roughly six to one.

Expectations for GTA 6 remain exceptionally high. Since its launch in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V has sold nearly 230 million copies, while Red Dead Redemption 2 has surpassed 85 million units worldwide.

With Take-Two already basing its financial outlook on the game’s planned autumn release, GTA 6 is widely expected to become one of the biggest entertainment launches in history.
