Apple has begun rolling out iOS 27 worldwide, bringing performance improvements, a redesigned Spotlight experience, enhanced search tools and its next-generation Siri AI.
Apple has officially started distributing iOS 27 to compatible iPhone models worldwide, giving users a major software update focused on performance, search improvements and new artificial intelligence features.
The update includes refinements to Apple’s Liquid Glass design language, while Apple claims app loading can be up to 30% faster. The company has also revamped search functionality across Spotlight, Photos and Mail to make it easier for users to find content on their devices.
One of the most notable additions is Apple’s redesigned Siri AI, which is initially arriving as a beta feature. However, availability is limited at launch, with English currently supported while users in the European Union will not receive the feature initially.
Apple says support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish is scheduled to arrive in October. Alongside iOS 27, the company has also begun rolling out iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27 to compatible hardware.
iOS 27 Compatible iPhones
Apple has retained the same compatibility range as iOS 26, meaning the update reaches devices dating back to the 2019 iPhone 11 generation.
The supported models include the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo, along with the iPhone 17 series, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e. The iPhone 16 family and iPhone 15 lineup are also eligible.
Older supported models include the iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series and iPhone 11 family. Both the 2020 and 2022 iPhone SE models are also compatible with iOS 27.
Apple began making the update available simultaneously to millions of users around the world. The rollout started at 10am PT, 1pm ET and 5pm UTC.
Users can check for the update by opening Settings > General > Software Update on their compatible iPhone. As with previous major iOS releases, availability may take some time to reach every device.
