Islamabad, December 31, 2024 – Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, is set to transition officially into a Digital ServiceCo model starting January 1, 2025, according to its CEO, Aamir Ibrahim.
The transformation underscores Jazz’s leadership in connectivity, financial services, enterprise solutions, entertainment, infrastructure, and AI-powered innovations.
Reflecting on the company’s 30-year legacy, Aamir emphasized Jazz’s commitment to leveraging digital technologies to shape a future that empowers lives and livelihoods. “The trust of our stakeholders—customers, communities, and partners—has been the cornerstone of our journey. Let’s honor this trust by creating lasting impact through digital innovation,” Aamir shared in a statement.
In his year-end note, Aamir highlighted Jazz’s achievements in 2024, which laid a solid foundation for this bold transformation. The establishment of customer-centric Strategic Business Units (SBUs) redefines Jazz as more than a telecom company, cementing its status as a Digital ServiceCo.
Jazz made strides in empowering women entrepreneurs by collaborating with UNDP and UN Women, integrating women-centric features across its products to enhance inclusivity. This earned Jazz the title of the ‘Most Inclusive Organization in Pakistan’ at the GDEIB Awards.
On the connectivity front, Jazz expanded its broadband outreach, with its 4G user base surpassing 50 million, bridging the digital divide and fueling economic growth. Its youth-focused brand, ROX, celebrated acquiring one million customers within ten months, reflecting Jazz’s dynamic engagement with younger demographics.
In financial services, JazzCash processed 8 million daily transactions and digitized PKR 100 billion monthly, serving 45 million customers. The AI-powered FikrFree platform emerged as a transformative force in Pakistan’s underdeveloped insurance sector.
In entertainment, Tamasha, Jazz’s streaming platform, expanded its global presence, broadcasting cricket matches to audiences in Sub-Saharan Africa and India. It now serves over 17 million customers, catering to entertainment needs across the day. Meanwhile, SIMOSA reached 20 million users, and GameNow attracted 5 million active monthly users, diversifying Jazz’s digital ecosystem.
Jazz’s enterprise solutions also flourished, providing IoT, cloud, and cybersecurity services to over 300 clients, including 95 of the top 100 companies on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. This year, Jazz partnered with NUST to launch Pakistan’s first Local Large Language Model (LLM), driving inclusivity and digital innovation.
Looking forward, Aamir Ibrahim emphasized Jazz’s pioneering spirit, urging stakeholders to embrace the company’s bold vision as it evolves beyond traditional telecom services into a fully digital future.
