JazzCash to expand into digital commerce with Huawei-powered ‘JazzCash Bazar’ miniapp platform

Islamabad, November 26, 2025 – JazzCash, Pakistan’s leading digital financial services platform, announced its plans to expand into digital commerce through JazzCash Bazar, an upcoming miniapp-powered marketplace developed in partnership with Huawei at the MWC Doha.

Set for commercial launch by the end of Q1 2026, JazzCash Bazar will mark a significant milestone in the company’s evolution from a trusted digital financial services provider into a full-scale digital commerce ecosystem and future-ready super app. JazzCash Bazar is designed to expand online commerce participation among micro-entrepreneurs, small merchants and home-based businesses by giving them a simple, accessible way to create a digital storefront and reach customers nationwide.

Pakistan has more than five million micro, small and medium enterprises, yet less than a quarter have adopted digital solutions: around one million have Raast-enabled QR codes, approximately 141,000 use point-of-sale machines and just over 9,100 operate online e-commerce storefronts. As a result, the overwhelming majority of MSMEs remain dependent on cash transactions with limited access to digital tools, visibility or nationwide customer reach. JazzCash Bazar aims to help bridge this gap by offering instant digital storefront creation, integrated payments, built-in customer access and a pathway to future services, including buy-now-pay-later, logistics, digital lending, and digital insurance.

JazzCash Bazar is built on Huawei’s miniapp technology, which embeds merchant and partner functionality directly into the JazzCash App. This creates a unified commerce environment where customers can browse, order and pay seamlessly without switching platforms, delivering a lighter, faster and more integrated digital experience.

JazzCash CEO Murtaza Ali said “By partnering with Huawei, JazzCash is moving beyond digital payments and building a complete digital commerce ecosystem. JazzCash Bazar will give merchants an immediate digital presence and offer customers a seamless place to shop and transact. This is how we create scale, expand opportunity and bring millions of Pakistanis closer to a cashless economy.

A Huawei spokesperson said, “MiniApp technology represents the next frontier in fast, frictionless digital experiences. Through our partnership with JazzCash, we are enabling a scalable ecosystem where new services can be launched rapidly and reach millions of users. Together, we are advancing inclusive and accessible digital innovation.”

At MWC Doha, JazzCash is showcasing how digital finance can serve as a force for economic equality as part of the VEON Group. Over the past twelve months, the platform processed a gross transaction value equivalent to US$46.7 billion, reflecting the rapid expansion of digital payments across Pakistan. By enabling more than 650,000 Raast-enabled QR merchants and powering the country’s largest online payment gateway, JazzCash continues to advance the Prime Minister’s Cashless Economy initiative.

The announcement was made at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Doha in the presence of VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioğlu; Jazz CEO and Chairman of Mobilink Microfinance Bank Aamir Ibrahim; JazzCash CEO Murtaza Ali; James Chen, President of Carrier Business, Huawei Technologies; and Alex Xu, President of Carrier Business, Huawei Middle East & Central Asia.
