Justin Baldoni has publicly shared his perspective on the ongoing legal dispute with his It Ends With Us co-star, Blake Lively. In a recent interaction with TMZ, the Five Feet Apart director, 40, revealed that he is leaning on his “faith” and the support of his “amazing friends and family” during this challenging time.
Baldoni, accompanied by his wife Emily Baldoni and one of their children, was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) when he made his brief comments. The video surfaced shortly after Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively, 37, in December 2024, escalating their legal battle.
The controversy began on the set of their film, It Ends With Us, where Lively, best known for her role in Gossip Girl, accused Baldoni of inappropriate conduct. Her allegations reportedly triggered an all-staff meeting to establish strict behavioral guidelines for the production.
Lively’s lawsuit accuses Baldoni of engaging in several improper actions, including sharing explicit images of women, making inappropriate remarks about their weight, and discussing his genitalia. Furthermore, the lawsuit alleges that Baldoni attempted to alter the film’s content by including explicit scenes, such as sex scenes and oral sex, that were not part of the originally approved script.
In her claims, Lively also alleged that Baldoni orchestrated a “smear campaign” to tarnish her reputation. These accusations have been strongly refuted by Baldoni’s legal team.
Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s attorney, has dismissed Lively’s allegations as “false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious.” During an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show on January 7, Freedman vowed to respond with an aggressive legal strategy. “Wait until you see this lawsuit,” Freedman stated. “It will be built on undeniable evidence, including admissions and documents, that will expose how she manipulated the process to take control of the film and used her PR team to launch attacks against Justin.”
As the legal proceedings continue, the dispute between the Jane the Virgin actor and the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress has drawn significant media attention. The fallout threatens to overshadow their collaboration on the highly anticipated adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel, leaving fans and industry insiders speculating about the future of the project.
