KMC to provide land in District South for a modern NADRA center aimed at improving identity registration services across Karachi.
Karachi is set to witness an expansion in identity registration facilities after Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab and the Director General of NADRA Sindh held a meeting to discuss improving public access to registration and documentation services across the city.
The meeting focused on enhancing identity management services for residents, establishing additional NADRA centers in Karachi, and strengthening cooperation between the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
Both sides emphasized the need to improve service delivery in response to the city’s growing population and increasing demand for registration-related facilities.
A key decision taken during the meeting was the establishment of a state-of-the-art NADRA Center in District South. To facilitate the project, Mayor Karachi announced that the KMC would allocate a plot of land located on Shahrah-e-Liaquat for the construction of the new facility.
The proposed center is expected to provide modern and efficient services under one roof, making identity registration and documentation processes more accessible for residents.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab highlighted the pressing need for additional NADRA centers throughout Karachi, noting that the city’s expanding population requires enhanced public service infrastructure.
He said that city authorities are actively working to improve the quality of civic services and ensure that residents receive better access to essential government facilities.
The mayor stated that the KMC and city administration are committed to practical measures aimed at upgrading public service delivery.
According to him, the current administration is taking concrete steps to strengthen basic civic facilities and address the needs of Karachi’s residents through improved institutional coordination.
He further pointed out that Saddar remains one of Karachi’s busiest commercial and business hubs, attracting thousands of visitors, shoppers, and traders every day.
The establishment of a modern NADRA Center on Shahrah-e-Liaquat will therefore benefit not only residents of District South but also members of the business community and citizens from other parts of the city.
Mayor Karachi reaffirmed KMC’s commitment to supporting the establishment of more NADRA centers in other districts. He emphasized that expanding the network of registration facilities would help ensure convenient, efficient, and high-quality identity documentation services for people across Karachi.
