Karachi is set to receive Pakistan’s largest public facilitation centre under the Federal Ministry of Interior, with the proposed facility aimed at bringing multiple government services together at a single location.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Ministry of Interior office on I.I. Chundrigar Road in Karachi to review plans for establishing the Grand Facilitation Centre. The project is expected to make access to several services easier for citizens by providing them through one centralized facility.
According to the plan, counters representing all departments and organizations working under the Ministry of Interior will be established at the centre. This arrangement is intended to allow citizens to complete different procedures without having to visit multiple government offices.
The proposed Karachi Grand Facilitation Centre will offer a range of services, including passport-related facilities, CNIC services, arms licences and various no-objection certificates (NOCs). Other services linked to the Interior Ministry’s departments and organizations will also be made available at the facility.
During his visit, Mohsin Naqvi directed the relevant authorities to prepare and submit a comprehensive master plan for the project within 10 days. He instructed officials to ensure that the proposed design covers all requirements necessary for the centre’s effective operation.
The minister said the master plan should be developed after considering the needs of citizens as well as the operational requirements of the departments that will work from the facility.
The objective is to create a centralized setup capable of handling multiple public services efficiently.
Naqvi also directed the authorities to take all necessary steps for establishing the Grand Facilitation Centre in Karachi. The project is expected to provide citizens with greater convenience by consolidating several Interior Ministry services at one location.
The proposed centre reflects an effort to streamline public-facing government services in Karachi. Once established, citizens will be able to access key documentation and regulatory services under one roof, potentially reducing the need for separate visits to different departments.
