The standard Xiaomi 18 is reportedly set to launch in China in December with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset and 6.4-inch display.
Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to launch the standard Xiaomi 18 in China in December, following the recent introduction of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series without the base model.
Unlike last year, Xiaomi did not include the standard Xiaomi 18 in its latest announcement. However, a new leak from tipster Panda is Bald on Weibo has reportedly revealed the handset’s key specifications ahead of its expected launch.
According to the leak, the Xiaomi 18 will feature a dual 200MP rear camera system, bringing the standard model closer to the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in terms of camera hardware.
The primary camera is tipped to use a 200MP sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches. It is expected to be paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera supporting 3x optical zoom. A third 50MP ultrawide camera is also reportedly part of the rear camera setup.
If the leaked specifications prove accurate, the camera system would make the Xiaomi 18 one of the more heavily equipped standard flagship models in its segment, although Xiaomi has yet to confirm the details.
The handset is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. This would put the Xiaomi 18 alongside the latest flagship devices using the company’s newest high-end mobile platform.
On the front, the Xiaomi 18 is tipped to feature a 6.4-inch M11 display with a 1.5K resolution. The smaller screen size would maintain a relatively compact form factor compared with many current flagship smartphones.
Battery capacity could be another major highlight. According to the tipster, the Xiaomi 18 will pack a substantial 7,200mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging.
The latest leak reiterates earlier reports that Xiaomi plans to launch the standard Xiaomi 18 in December 2026, although the company has not yet announced an official launch date.
Xiaomi is expected to reveal further details about the smartphone closer to its launch. Until then, the specifications, pricing and availability outside China remain unconfirmed.
