Louis Partridge Responds to Growing James Bond Speculation

Louis Partridge has addressed reports linking him to the role of James Bond, saying it is too early to discuss the possibility despite growing speculation surrounding the future of the iconic spy franchise.

The 22-year-old British actor spoke to Variety at the premiere of Enola Holmes 3 on Wednesday, where he was asked about rumours suggesting he is among the contenders to become the next actor to portray 007.

“No, no. Not yet at least. But that’s something to keep in mind,” Partridge said when questioned about the reports.

The comments come after several media outlets earlier this year claimed Partridge was being considered for the role, although sources indicated that the casting process remained in its early stages and no final decision had been made.

Despite dismissing the speculation for now, Partridge admitted that being mentioned alongside potential Bond candidates was flattering.

The actor, who is also set to appear in the upcoming television series House of Guinness, described the attention surrounding the reports as “wonderful,” reflecting the prestige associated with one of cinema’s most recognisable characters.

The search for the next James Bond has intensified as Amazon MGM Studios moves forward with plans for the next instalment of the long-running franchise. The upcoming film will mark the first Bond project developed under the studio’s creative leadership following its acquisition of control over the series last year.

Acclaimed filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, known for directing the Dune films, has been tapped to direct the next Bond movie, while Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is writing the screenplay.

Speaking to Deadline last month, Knight said development on the project was progressing well and described the process as “fantastic.” He added that he was not writing the script with a specific actor in mind.

Knight also praised author Ian Fleming’s original James Bond novels, calling them underrated works that helped create the distinctive world and dialogue that have defined the franchise for decades.

While speculation over the next Bond continues, Partridge’s comments suggest that any official casting announcement may still be some time away.
