Islamabad, August 25, 2023 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), commonly referred to as the Met Office, has issued a weather forecast indicating the likelihood of thundershower across various regions of Pakistan on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
According to the daily weather report released by the PMD, a spell of rain, accompanied by winds and thundershowers, is expected to affect several parts of the country. The areas anticipated to experience these weather conditions include the Potohar region, Islamabad, upper and central Punjab, northeast Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir. In contrast, the rest of the nation can anticipate hot and humid weather.
This weather pattern is attributed to a westerly wave that is impacting the upper regions of Pakistan. Additionally, monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are making their way into the upper parts of the country, further contributing to the likelihood of precipitation.
As for the weather forecast for Friday, August 25, 2023, the PMD anticipates rain, winds, and thundershowers in upper and central Punjab, the Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir. In other parts of Pakistan, hot and humid conditions are expected.
Reflecting on the weather during the past 24 hours, the Met Office reported instances of rain, winds, and thundershowers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Conversely, most other regions experienced hot and humid weather.
