Meta has officially announced the global rollout of new subscription plans for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, introducing premium features for users across its social media platforms. The company also confirmed that additional subscription options focused on Meta AI, creators, and businesses will launch in the near future.
The move marks Meta’s latest effort to diversify its revenue streams while offering users enhanced customization and exclusive social networking tools.
Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus Pricing Revealed
According to Meta, the new Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus subscriptions are priced at $3.99 per month each. Meanwhile, WhatsApp Plus will cost users $2.99 per month.
Meta clarified that these new Plus plans will operate separately from the existing Meta Verified subscription service. Users will still be able to subscribe to Meta Verified for account authentication and security benefits, while the new Plus plans focus primarily on advanced platform features and personalization.
Exclusive Features for Facebook and Instagram Users
Subscribers to Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus will gain access to several premium tools designed to improve engagement and profile customization.
One of the key additions is advanced Story insights, including the ability to see rewatch counts and search through Story viewer lists. Users can also create unlimited audience lists, expanding beyond the current Close Friends feature.
Meta is also introducing an option to extend Stories beyond the standard 24-hour duration. Subscribers will additionally be able to preview Stories before publishing and share posts directly to their profile without pushing them into followers’ feeds.
Other premium customization features include Super Heart animated Story reactions, custom app icons, personalized fonts for profile bios, and support for additional pinned profile posts.
WhatsApp Plus Brings New Customization Tools
WhatsApp Plus subscribers will receive a range of new customization options aimed at enhancing the messaging experience.
These include custom ringtones, new app themes, extra sticker packs, support for more pinned chats, and expanded list customization tools. The features are designed to give users more control over the appearance and functionality of the app.
Meta Plans More AI and Creator Features
Meta also hinted at upcoming subscription plans tailored for Meta AI users, content creators, and businesses. While full details have not yet been revealed, the company appears to be expanding its premium ecosystem across all major services.
The global rollout of these subscription plans is expected to continue in phases over the coming weeks.
