MG Pakistan is preparing to ship CKD samples to Bangladesh this September, marking a major step toward expanding Pakistan’s automotive exports.
MG Pakistan is set to enter a new phase of regional expansion with plans to export completely knocked down (CKD) vehicle units to Bangladesh.
The company is preparing to send two CKD samples to Bangladesh in September 2026 as part of the country’s local vehicle homologation process.
The development follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between MG Pakistan and its Bangladeshi counterparts in July 2026.
The agreement laid the foundation for future vehicle exports from Pakistan to Bangladesh and represents an important step in MG Pakistan’s regional export strategy.
According to the latest company update, the initial shipment will consist of two CKD samples. These vehicles will undergo the required homologation and regulatory procedures in Bangladesh before commercial-scale exports can begin.
MG Pakistan expects full-scale exports to Bangladesh to commence in 2027, subject to the completion of the local approval and homologation process. The planned exports could allow vehicles manufactured or assembled in Pakistan to reach a wider regional market.
The initiative is being pursued in line with the Government of Pakistan’s efforts to promote exports and strengthen the country’s manufacturing and industrial base. MG Pakistan has also highlighted the support of SAIC Motor in progressing its regional export plans.
The company’s export strategy could provide an opportunity to increase Pakistan’s role in the regional automotive supply chain. CKD exports can also support local manufacturing activity by creating additional demand for vehicles produced or assembled within the country.
For Pakistan’s automotive industry, the planned Bangladesh exports are significant as the country continues to explore opportunities to expand beyond the domestic market. Regional exports could help manufacturers improve production volumes while strengthening Pakistan’s position as a potential automotive manufacturing hub.
With sample shipments expected this month and mass exports targeted for 2027, MG Pakistan’s Bangladesh project marks another milestone in the company’s regional expansion plans.
