Nothing Adds Audio Call Recording Feature to Essential Space

Nothing Phone (3)

Nothing has introduced a highly requested feature to its smartphones — audio call recording — through a new update for Essential Space.

This update brings more convenience and functionality to Nothing device users, allowing them to easily record calls without needing third-party apps.

With the latest update, Nothing smartphone users can start recording audio calls in two ways: by long-pressing the Essential Key or by tapping the “Start recording” option in the notification panel that appears during a call. Once the conversation ends, the recorded audio is automatically saved in Essential Space, making it easy to access and manage.

Nothing also confirmed that the feature is being rolled out automatically, meaning no manual update is required from users. This suggests the feature is likely part of a server-side update, gradually reaching compatible devices.

Currently, the call recording feature is only being rolled out for three models: Nothing Phone (3), Nothing Phone (3a), and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro. Additionally, its availability is initially limited to eight markets — India, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, the UK, and South Korea. However, Nothing has assured users that support for more regions will follow soon.

The feature is expected to significantly improve the user experience, especially for those who rely on call recordings for work, interviews, or documentation. Since the recordings are stored locally within Essential Space, users can easily access, manage, and share them whenever needed.

The update highlights Nothing’s commitment to enhancing its software ecosystem and offering practical features driven by user feedback. As the rollout expands, more users around the world will soon benefit from this built-in call recording solution, eliminating the need for external apps or complicated workarounds.

With this new addition, Nothing smartphones become even more versatile, combining minimalist design with feature-rich performance — a combination that continues to strengthen the brand’s position in the competitive Android market.
