ISLAMABAD, May 4, 2026 – Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday chaired a high-level meeting of the Committee on Security Assessment of Oil Refineries and oil storage facilities across the country.
The meeting reviewed the overall security arrangements of refineries and strategic oil storage installations nationwide, with a focus on strengthening protective measures for critical energy infrastructure.
Security Measures Under Review
The Coordinator of the National Coordination and Management Committee (NCMC) briefed the committee that necessary steps are being implemented in consultation with all relevant stakeholders, including oil refineries and oil marketing companies.
He informed the participants that enhanced security arrangements are being developed to safeguard strategic facilities, with all associated costs to be borne by the oil marketing companies.
Government Commitment to Energy Security
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the existing security framework and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the protection of critical energy assets.
He emphasized that safeguarding refineries and oil storage facilities is essential to maintaining uninterrupted fuel supply across the country and supporting national energy stability.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for IT, Minister of State for Finance, Federal Secretaries of Petroleum and Interior, along with senior federal and provincial government officials.
Officials reiterated that coordinated efforts between institutions will continue to strengthen the security environment of Pakistan’s energy sector.
