Pakistan’s hopes of reaching the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup final were dashed as Bangladesh emerged victorious by six runs in a rain-affected match at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong. The semifinal clash was reduced to a nine-over per side encounter due to a wet outfield.

Batting first, Bangladesh A managed to score 59 runs for the loss of seven wickets within their allotted nine overs. Nahida Akter played a crucial role for Bangladesh A, scoring 21 runs off 16 balls, including three fours and a six.

Pakistan’s captain, Fatima Sana, displayed an impressive bowling performance, taking three wickets for just 10 runs in her two overs. Anoosha Nasir, the left-arm spinner, also contributed with two wickets for six runs.

In pursuit of the target of 60 runs, Pakistan A fell short, ending their innings at 53 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted nine overs.

The final of the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup is scheduled for the next day at the same venue, where Bangladesh A will face India A.
