Pakistan Met Issues Warning of Urban Flooding in Islamabad and Other Cities

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning about the possibility of urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad and several other cities.

The Met Office has indicated that heavy rainfall could lead to urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Gujranwala, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Kohat, Peshawar, Bannu, Karak, and D. I. Khan. Additionally, landslides are also a concern in vulnerable areas such as Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and hilly regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from July 5th to July 8th.

Today, the Met Office predicts rain, wind, and thundershowers in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Pothohar region, upper/central Punjab, and northeast Balochistan. During this period, isolated heavy rainfall is also expected in central Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
