Pakistan batter receives official warning and one demerit point following an incident during the Group A clash against Australia.

Pakistan batter Gull Feroza has been officially reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during Pakistan’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match against Australia.

The ICC confirmed that Feroza committed a Level 1 offence and was handed one demerit point for her actions during the contest played on Tuesday.

The disciplinary action relates to a violation of Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which addresses the misuse or abuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground fixtures, and fittings during an international match.

The incident occurred in the second over of Pakistan’s innings after Feroza was dismissed. According to the ICC, the opener reacted by throwing her bat and gloves aggressively near the team dugout, an act deemed contrary to the standards expected of international cricketers.

As the offence represents Feroza’s first disciplinary violation within a 24-month period, the ICC imposed an official reprimand along with the addition of one demerit point to her record.

Under ICC regulations, Level 1 breaches carry penalties ranging from an official reprimand to a fine of up to 50 percent of a player’s match fee, in addition to one or two demerit points.

Feroza accepted responsibility for the incident and agreed to the sanction proposed by match referee Michell Pereira of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees. As a result, no formal disciplinary hearing was required.

The charge was brought forward by the match officials, including on-field umpires Sue Redfern and Vrinda Rathi, third umpire Jacquline Williams, and fourth umpire Shathira Jakir Jesy.

The disciplinary development came during a difficult campaign for Pakistan at the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The team suffered a heavy 113-run defeat against Australia in the Group A encounter, further denting its chances in the tournament.

Pakistan remain without a victory in the competition and face increasing pressure to turn their campaign around in the remaining matches. Meanwhile, Feroza will look to move past the incident and focus on contributing positively to her team’s efforts on the field.
