The notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) confirmed that the new fuel prices will be लागू nationwide from May 1, impacting transportation costs and inflationary pressures across various sectors of the economy.

The announcement came shortly after authorities dismissed widespread reports suggesting a potential shutdown of petrol pumps across the country. Officials termed such claims as baseless and misleading, clarifying that there are no plans to halt operations at fuel stations.

In its statement, the Petroleum Division reassured the public that the supply of petroleum products remains stable and uninterrupted. It emphasized that no disruptions are expected despite circulating rumors, urging citizens to rely only on verified information and avoid spreading panic.

Authorities further noted that despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East, fuel availability in Pakistan has not been affected. The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring a steady supply of petroleum products and maintaining market stability in the coming months.

The increase in fuel prices is likely to have a broad economic impact, particularly on transportation and essential commodities, as rising energy costs continue to put pressure on consumers nationwide.
