The Pakistan Shaheens cricket team, led by Mohammad Haris, is set to participate in the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, a 50-over tournament featuring eight teams.
On Tuesday (July 11, 2023), the team will leave Lahore and make a brief stopover in Dubai before heading to Sri Lanka. The competition will be held in Colombo from July 13 to 23, 2023.
In Group B, Pakistan Shaheens will compete against India A, Nepal, and UAE A. Their first match is scheduled against Nepal on July 14, followed by matches against UAE A on July 17 and India A on July 19.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be played on July 21, leading to the final on July 23.
Prior to their departure, the 15-member squad, accompanied by four non-travelling reserves, underwent a six-day training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Head coach Mohammad Masroor and the coaching staff focused on various aspects of 50-over cricket, including intensive net sessions.
The Pakistan Shaheens team comprises several players who have previously represented the Pakistan Men’s team. Alongside Mohammad Haris, who has played five ODIs and nine T20Is, the squad includes Arshad Iqbal (1 T20I), Kamran Ghulam (1 ODI), Mohammad Wasim Jnr (2 Tests, 14 ODIs, 27 T20Is), Sahibzada Farhan (3 T20Is), Saim Ayub (8 T20Is), Shahnawaz Dahani (2 ODIs, 11 T20Is), and Tayyab Tahir (3 T20Is).

Expressing confidence, Mohammad Haris believes the team can handle the pressure of defending their championship title. He emphasizes the significance of simplicity, composure, and consistent performances.
