Pakistan U19 Face Nepal U19 in Asia Cup Cricket Opener

Pakistan U19 cricket team gear up to face Nepal U19 in their opening match on December 08 at 1030 PKT. The tournament, spanning from December 08 to 17, will witness fierce competition among eight teams, featuring a total of 15 matches over nine action-packed days.

In Group A, Pakistan U19 is set to lock horns with formidable opponents, including Nepal U19, India U19, and Afghanistan U19. The cricket extravaganza promises an intense display of talent and determination.

Leading the 15-member Pakistan U19 squad is the skilled Saad Baig, who captained his team to a remarkable 4-1 series victory against Bangladesh U19 in April/May 2023 and previously steered them in a five-match 50-over series against Sri Lanka U19 at home.

Notable batting performers from the squad include Shamyl Hussain (386), Shahzaib Khan (365), and Arafat Minhas (342), each boasting over 300 runs in the 50-over series against Sri Lanka U19 and Bangladesh U19 in 2023. On the bowling front, Arafat Minhas (13), Ali Asfand (10), and Ubaid Shah (9) emerge as the top wicket-takers in the 50-over matches this year.

Arafat Minhas, Ali Asfand, and fast bowler Mohammad Zeeshan bring valuable senior-level experience to the squad. Arafat Minhas, having featured in three T20Is for Pakistan in the Asian Games Men’s Cricket Competition, is the sole capped player in the team. Ali Asfand and Mohammad Zeeshan have also made significant contributions in List A and T20 games.
