Islamabad, September 13, 2024 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its weather forecast for today, highlighting a significant shift in conditions for various parts of the country.
According to the PMD, a westerly wave is currently affecting the upper regions of Pakistan, and it is expected to impact the upper, western, and central areas from the evening onward. Moist air currents from the Arabian Sea are also making their way toward the northern regions, contributing to the likelihood of rain and thunderstorms.

These areas are expected to experience the brunt of the westerly wave by evening or night. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall and hailstorms in isolated parts of upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and the Pothohar region during the same period.
In contrast, southern regions of Pakistan are likely to experience hot and dry weather throughout the day. Cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, and parts of Sindh and southern Punjab are expected to remain under the influence of this dry spell, offering no respite from the heat.
