Paris, France, is all set to host the highly anticipated 2024 Summer Olympics, which will be fondly referred to as Paris 2024. The opening ceremony promises to be a breathtaking event, highlighted by a magnificent procession of the Olympic flame, featuring a staggering 10,000 torchbearers.

Scheduled for July and August next year, the Games will kick off with an unforgettable opening ceremony centered around the iconic River Seine that gracefully winds its way through the heart of the French capital.

According to reports from AFP, the Olympic flame will commence its journey from Olympia, Greece, and be transported to Marseille, France, aboard the elegant sailing ship Belem. Subsequently, individuals and groups will carry the flame across the length and breadth of France until its grand arrival in Paris on July 26.

Each torchbearer will have the honor of carrying the symbolic flame for approximately 4 minutes, covering a distance of about 200 meters. Notably, the organizers are yet to finalize the location for the cauldron, where the flame will be proudly displayed throughout the duration of the Games.

Tony Estanguet, the president of the Paris 2024 organizing committee, addressed the speculation surrounding the Eiffel Tower as the cauldron’s lighting spot, stating that a decision is yet to be made.

As part of the opening ceremony, athletes will be transported in elaborately adorned boats, gliding along a captivating 6-kilometer stretch of the Seine.

This awe-inspiring event will be open to the public, and organizers anticipate an impressive turnout of approximately 600,000 spectators who will line the route, eager to witness this extraordinary spectacle.

The focal point of the opening ceremony will be a state-of-the-art 30,000-seat arena, strategically located in the Trocadero, a picturesque park situated alongside the Seine and in close proximity to the iconic Eiffel Tower.

Paris has had the privilege of hosting the Olympic Games twice before, with the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics coinciding with the centenary of its inaugural hosting in 1924.
