Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif begins his Saudi Arabia visit to strengthen bilateral ties, discuss regional developments, and perform Umrah.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Jeddah on Thursday for an official visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The visit is expected to reinforce the strategic partnership between the two countries while addressing key regional developments.
The Prime Minister received a warm welcome upon his arrival in Jeddah. Among those present to receive the Pakistani delegation were Deputy Governor of Makkah Prince Saud bin Mashal bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Engineer Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Mohsen Al Fadhli, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, along with senior Saudi and Pakistani diplomatic officials.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The discussions will focus on strengthening the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, expanding cooperation in various sectors, and reviewing the evolving regional situation.
The leadership is also expected to exchange views on matters of mutual interest aimed at enhancing bilateral collaboration.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have maintained close diplomatic, economic, and strategic ties for decades.
The latest meeting between the two leaders is expected to further deepen cooperation in trade, investment, defence, and other key areas while reaffirming the commitment of both countries to their long-term partnership.
Besides official engagements, the Prime Minister will perform Umrah during his stay in the Kingdom. He will also travel to Madinah to offer prayers and pay respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH), a significant spiritual component of the visit.
A high-level Pakistani delegation is accompanying the Prime Minister, reflecting the importance of the visit.
The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
The visit is being viewed as another step toward expanding Pakistan-Saudi Arabia cooperation and reinforcing the enduring relationship between the two friendly nations amid changing regional dynamics.
