ISLAMABAD – In a high-level move to address the nation’s energy concerns, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed relevant authorities to formulate a robust strategy aimed at stabilising electricity tariffs across the country.
During a meeting focused on energy sector reforms held this Saturday, the Prime Minister emphasized that reducing the financial burden on citizens and businesses is a cornerstone of the government’s economic agenda.
Relief for Industrial and Domestic Consumers
The Prime Minister underscored the necessity of providing immediate relief to both industrial and domestic electricity consumers. He instructed officials to implement concrete measures to ensure that power costs remain manageable, noting that affordable energy is the backbone of national productivity.
“Providing relief to domestic consumers remains one of the government’s top priorities. Uninterrupted energy supply is essential for promoting industrial growth,” the Prime Minister stated.
Key Directives for Energy Reform
To modernize the aging infrastructure and improve efficiency, the Prime Minister outlined several critical focus areas:
• Reduction of Line Losses: Urgent improvements in the power transmission system were ordered to minimize energy wastage.

• Anti-Theft Crackdown: A continuation of strict measures against electricity theft to protect the national exchequer.
