Porsche Vision 357 Speedster: Motorsport-inspired Concept Car

Porsche celebrated the renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed’s 30th anniversary in a remarkable manner by unveiling the impressive Porsche Vision 357 Speedster. This cutting-edge concept car serves as a companion model to the closed Porsche Vision 357, which the esteemed sports car manufacturer introduced to mark its own anniversary year.

While paying tribute to the classic 356 in terms of design, the all-electric Porsche Vision 357 Speedster derives its technological foundation from the 718 GT4 e-Performance. Porsche showcased over 15 new and vintage models at the Duke of Richmond’s estate in West Sussex, making it an unforgettable event. Among the highlights was the iconic 356 No. 1 Roadster, the brand’s very first sports car. Attendees who have a passion for motorsport were also treated to the sight of six Le Mans winners on display.

The Vision 357 Speedster draws upon the technology of the Porsche 718 GT4 e-Performance, incorporating electric motors and battery technology from the Mission R, as well as the chassis from the 718 GT4 Clubsport. After its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, this innovative design study will be showcased at this year’s Rennsport Reunion in the United States at the end of September.

The anniversary logo, featuring the numbers “75” and the years “1948” and “2023,” is adorned in Grivelo Grey Metallic and Miami Blue colors. These fresh hues provide a vibrant alternative to the coupe version of the Vision 357, which utilized red as an additional color.

Notably, the traditional exterior mirrors have been replaced by cameras, placed further forward on the fenders in a wing-like configuration for enhanced aerodynamics.

Several design details from the sister concept car can also be found in the Vision 357 Speedster. The front features a four-point light signet with a round design, reminiscent of the iconic Porsche 356. At the rear, the lights are positioned behind a patterned array of milled points on the body. Furthermore, a vertical grille pattern pays homage to the original Porsche model line, while the grille itself integrates the third brake light seamlessly.
