Port Qasim Releases Shipping Activity Report for March 18, 2024

Karachi, March 18, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has issued its shipping activity report for Monday, March 18, 2024, detailing the movements and cargo handling operations to facilitate stakeholders.

According to the report, six ships berthed at various terminals of Port Qasim on Sunday. These included Wan Hai-316, Maersk Chicago, Meratus Jayakarta, Hafnia Shanghai, Bateleur, and Elephanta, carrying Container, Gas oil, LPG, and Coal respectively. These vessels docked at Container Terminal, FOTCO Terminal, Southern Gas Terminal, and Pakistan International Bulk Terminal.

Additionally, four more ships, namely MSC Precision-V, Kotka, Pindos, and Umm Bab, arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday morning. These vessels are scheduled to load/offload Container, Cement, and LNG.

During the last 24 hours, a total of eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths. Three of these ships, Wan Hai-316, Fame, and Oceanic Dream, departed from the port on Monday morning, while four more ships, Meratus Jayakarta, Maersk Chicago, Hafnia Shanghai, and Melody, are expected to sail on Monday afternoon.

The cargo volume handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours amounted to 164,823 tonnes, comprising 125,841 tonnes of imports cargo and 38,982 tonnes of export cargo. This cargo was carried in 5,748 containers, including 3,697 TEUs of imports and 2,051 TEUs of exports.

Furthermore, ten ships were reported at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, six ships, including Trans Spring, Crater, Log Sparta, Umm Bab, MSC Precision-V, and Kotka, are expected to take berths at MW-2, FAP, FOTCO, EETL, and QICT on Monday. Additionally, two container ships, MSC Shy and Maersk Kinloss, are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
