Port Qasim continues to facilitate stakeholders by ensuring smooth logistics and shipping movements at one of Pakistan’s key trade hubs.
According to the latest report from Port Qasim, updated at 0800 hours, the port has witnessed continuous maritime activity over the past 24 hours, reflecting its crucial role in handling imports and exports. The bustling operations at Port Qasim highlight its significance in Pakistan’s shipping industry, with several vessels arriving, departing, and shifting to optimize cargo handling.
Shipping Movements at Port Qasim
On March 8, 2025, multiple vessels were engaged in operations at Port Qasim. The ships handled a variety of commodities, including soybean seed, paraxylene, palm oil, coal, pet coke, LNG, and containers. The shipping activity at Port Qasim remains vital for sustaining Pakistan’s trade and industry, ensuring the smooth transportation of essential goods.
Several vessels set sail from Port Qasim during the day, including the M.V. Katagalan Brave, which departed carrying 68,250 metric tons of soybean seed, and the M.V. Montevideo I, which transported 58,838 metric tons of coal. Additionally, tankers such as M.T. Dolphin 08 and M.T. Jal Siddhi carried palm oil and paraxylene, respectively, contributing to the ongoing trade efficiency at the port.
Simultaneously, various vessels berthed at Port Qasim to offload and load cargo, reinforcing the port’s position as a vital shipping hub. Notable arrivals included the M.V. TCLC Quanzhou, carrying 53,100 metric tons of pet coke, and the M.T. Maria Glory, which delivered 37,147 metric tons of Mogas. Another significant arrival was the M.T. Methane Alison Victoria, which transported 141,962 metric tons of LNG, underlining the growing energy trade through Port Qasim.
The shifting of vessels at Port Qasim also remained active, ensuring efficient use of berthing space and minimizing delays. The M.V. Toiny, carrying chickpeas, was repositioned to optimize cargo handling.
