Port Qasim Shipping Operations – April 10, 2025

Karachi, April 10, 2025 — Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its updated shipping operations for Thursday, April 10, 2025, detailing vessel movements and cargo handling to streamline logistics and inform stakeholders.

The report, issued at 0800 hours, covers a 24-hour period of activity at the bustling port.

According to the PQA, four vessels successfully sailed from Port Qasim, carrying a range of commodities. These included the M.V. KEN STAR, loaded with 52,557 metric tons of soybean seed, and the M.V. DSI PHOENIX, which departed with a coal consignment of 59,100 metric tons. Additionally, container ship M.V. GFS RANNA and palm oil tanker M.T. MAERSK BEAUFORT completed their shipping operations and exited the port at scheduled times.

Meanwhile, Port Qasim received six new vessels for berthing, reflecting sustained activity at Pakistan’s second busiest port. Among them, M.T. BUMSHIN and M.T. AL QAIYYAH berthed early in the day with shipments of palm oil and LNG, respectively. Other vessels like M.V. CUMBRIA (coal), M.T. PGC PATREAS (LPG), M.T. HAFNIA EXPRESS (MOGAS), and M.V. TUCAPEL (containers) were also received at designated berths to facilitate swift unloading and turnaround.

PQA reported that shipping agents representing various global lines—such as AL-PINE MARINE, GSA Pvt. Ltd., and HAPAG-LLOYD Pakistan—played a key role in coordinating operations to ensure smooth berthing and departure processes.

This continued efficiency at Port Qasim underscores its strategic importance in Pakistan’s maritime supply chain. With its specialized terminals including PIBT, FOTCO, EVTL, EETL, and QT2-II, the port handles a diverse range of cargo including petroleum products, LNG, LPG, coal, containers, and edible oils.

The shipping activity reflects rising commercial momentum, as the port remains critical for imports vital to Pakistan’s economy. Officials emphasized that coordination among stakeholders—especially shipping lines and terminal operators—was instrumental in maintaining port fluidity and minimizing turnaround times.

As global trade patterns evolve, Port Qasim continues to enhance its infrastructure and digital tracking systems, reinforcing its position as a modern hub for shipping operations in the region.
