Karachi, August 5, 2024 – Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its latest shipping activity report for August 5, 2024, providing a detailed overview of maritime operations at the port. The report is aimed at keeping stakeholders informed about the port’s daily activities and scheduling.
On Sunday, August 4, 2024, three ships successfully berthed at different terminals within Port Qasim. The vessels included Sweet Lady-III, which arrived at the Grain Terminal to load rice; Corona, scheduled for palm oil at the Liquid Terminals; and Maya Gas-1, which docked at Engro Vopak Terminal to offload LPG.
In addition, five more ships—Rakan-5, Zhong Gu Bo Hai, Saehan Jasper, Leader, and Ginga Liger—arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim within the past 24 hours. These ships are set to handle various cargoes including rice, containers, palm oil, gas oil, and chemicals.
During the last 24-hour period, a total of eight ships were engaged at PQA berths. Among them, the petroleum product carrier ‘Estia’ departed the port this morning. Four additional vessels—Maya Gas-1, Zhong Gu Bo Hai, IVS North Berwick, and Ullswater—are anticipated to sail today as well.
The port handled a cargo volume of 42,907 tonnes over the past 24 hours, reflecting the steady flow of goods and continued operational activity.
Looking ahead, the outer anchorage of Port Qasim is currently hosting seven ships. Among these, three vessels—Rakan-5, Leader, and Clipper Eris—are scheduled to dock at FAP, FOTCO, and EVTL respectively. Additionally, five more ships—MSC Antonia, San Diego Bridge, Dimitris-Y, TSS Amber, and Singapore Bulker—are expected to berth at QICT and MW-1, handling cargoes such as rice, gas oil, chemicals, containers, and cement.
