KARACHI, April 17, 2026 — Quetta Gladiators delivered a dominant all-round performance to defeat defending champions Lahore Qalandars by six wickets in the 26th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Friday.
Chasing a modest target of 135, Quetta overcame an early stumble to reach 138/4 in just 17 overs, sealing victory with 22 balls to spare.
The Gladiators’ run chase got off to a shaky start as both openers, Shamyl Hussain and Saud Shakeel, were dismissed cheaply within the first three overs, leaving the side reeling at 11/2.
However, Rilee Rossouw and Mohammad Nawaz steadied the innings with a match-defining 104-run partnership for the third wicket. Nawaz played an aggressive knock of 49 off 32 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes before falling just short of a half-century after being stumped off Sikandar Raza.
Rossouw anchored the chase with a composed unbeaten 60 off 49 deliveries, striking five fours and two sixes. He was supported at the end by Bevon Jacobs, who contributed a quick 14 not out off six balls to take the Gladiators across the line.
For Lahore Qalandars, Sikandar Raza, Haris Rauf and captain Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed one wicket each but failed to contain Quetta’s middle order.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars struggled after being put in to bat, managing just 134 all out in 19.5 overs. Their innings was rocked early by a disciplined Quetta bowling attack.
Jahandad Khan dismissed Mohammad Naeem in the second over, while Alzarri Joseph removed Fakhar Zaman and Charith Asalanka in quick succession to reduce Lahore to 36/3.
The collapse continued as Saqib Khan and Usman Tariq struck crucial blows, leaving the Qalandars at 60/6 midway through the innings. Tariq proved particularly effective, picking up three wickets, while Jahandad Khan also claimed three scalps. Joseph chipped in with two wickets.
Haseebullah Khan offered some resistance with a gritty 33 off 37 balls, while Usama Mir provided late fireworks with a quick 22 off seven deliveries, helping Lahore reach a modest total.
Despite the late surge, the target proved insufficient against a composed Quetta batting lineup, as the Gladiators secured a convincing win to strengthen their position in the tournament standings.
