Rain, Wind and Thundershowers Expected in Pakistan – Weather Update July 26, 2023

Pakistan is expected to experience rain, wind, and thundershowers in various regions. Monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal are penetrating the central and southern parts of the country, while a westerly wave is present over the upper parts.

Weather Forecast:

• Northeast and South Punjab: Rain, wind, and thundershowers are expected in these regions. Heavyfalls are likely to occur, which may lead to localized flooding.

• Pothohar Region: Rain, wind, and thundershowers can be expected in the Pothohar region, including Islamabad. Some areas might experience heavy rainfall.

• Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan: Rain, wind, and thundershowers are expected in these regions.

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Rain, wind, and thundershowers are likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with isolated heavyfalls in certain areas.

• Balochistan: Rain, wind, and thundershowers are forecasted in Balochistan, with heavyfalls expected in the northeast part of the province.

Flash Flood Warning: Heavy rains in the past 24 hours have already caused flash flooding in local Nullahs of Dera Ghazi Khan, northeast & south Balochistan (including Quetta, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, Ziarat, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sherani, Harnai, Bolan, Loralai, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Kech, Turbat, Panjgur, Awaran, Pasni, Ormara, Gwadar, and surrounding areas) on 25th and 26th July. Recorded Highest Maximum Temperatures: The highest maximum temperatures recorded today are 40°C in Nokkundi and 39°C in Dalbandin.
