KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has released the gas supply schedule for Ramadan, ensuring uninterrupted gas availability during critical meal preparation hours in Karachi and areas under its jurisdiction.

SSGC has emphasized that the schedule is designed to facilitate households, particularly during Sehar and Iftar timings.

Given the annual depletion of the country’s gas reserves by approximately 10%, SSGC highlighted the increasing challenge of balancing gas demand and supply. To optimize gas distribution and maintain pressure stability, the company will implement gas pressure profiling during Ramadan. These adjustments will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM and again from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

According to the issued schedule, gas will be available daily from 3:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM, ensuring adequate supply for meal preparations during Sehar and Iftar. However, gas supply will be temporarily suspended from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM and from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM to regulate pressure and ensure fair distribution.

SSGC assured that the timing plan has been meticulously structured to support customers in meeting their essential cooking needs during Ramadan. The company reiterated its commitment to prioritizing domestic consumers during peak hours, while also urging the public to use gas efficiently to prevent undue strain on the system.

Furthermore, SSGC has advised residents to adopt energy-saving practices and avoid excessive usage, particularly during non-peak hours, to contribute towards stable gas distribution. The company continues to monitor gas consumption patterns and may implement necessary modifications to further enhance supply management throughout Ramadan.

SSGC reaffirmed that it remains dedicated to minimizing any inconvenience caused by supply limitations, stressing that collaboration between consumers and authorities is crucial in addressing energy challenges. The corporation urged consumers to report any gas-related issues immediately to ensure a swift resolution during Ramadan.

By implementing this structured supply schedule, SSGC aims to maintain equitable gas distribution, ensuring that households in Karachi and surrounding regions receive uninterrupted service for their Ramadan meal preparations.
