Samsung Electronics has expanded internal testing of its upcoming One UI 9 software to several additional Galaxy smartphones, signaling continued progress toward a broader rollout of the Android-based update.
The South Korean technology giant recently released the third beta version of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 series, which remains the only lineup officially participating in the beta programme.
More Galaxy Devices Enter One UI 9 Testing
According to reports, Samsung has now begun testing One UI 9 on a wider range of devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung Galaxy A56, Samsung Galaxy S23 and the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.
Firmware builds associated with the testing programme have reportedly surfaced for the devices, suggesting that development is progressing ahead of a future public beta expansion.
Samsung is also said to be working on One UI 9 for additional smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, Samsung Galaxy A17 5G, Samsung Galaxy A34, Samsung Galaxy A57 and the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S26 FE.
Galaxy S24 Series Included in Latest Tests
The latest testing reportedly covers the entire Galaxy S24 family, including the Samsung Galaxy S24+, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S24 FE.
While Samsung has not officially confirmed a timeline for expanding the beta programme, the appearance of new firmware builds suggests the company is preparing software for a wider range of devices.
Foldables Expected to Lead One UI 9 Launch
Industry reports indicate that Samsung’s next-generation foldable smartphones will be the first devices to ship with One UI 9 pre-installed.
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra are expected to debut with the new software out of the box.
The foldable devices are widely rumored to be unveiled at a Samsung launch event scheduled for July 22 in London.
One UI 9 Rollout Still in Development
Samsung has yet to announce when additional devices will gain access to the One UI 9 beta programme.
The company typically expands beta testing gradually before releasing stable software updates to eligible Galaxy smartphones.
For now, the Galaxy S26 series remains the only lineup officially enrolled in the One UI 9 beta programme, while development continues behind the scenes for Samsung’s broader Galaxy portfolio.
