Samsung latest innovation, the Galaxy Z Flip6, along with three new smartwatch models, have been officially certified by the Thai regulatory body NBTC. This certification signals their impending release in the market.
The Galaxy Z Flip6, boasting 5G connectivity, has been designated the model number SM-F741B. According to the NBTC listing, the Z Flip6 supports 25W charging, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, though it notably lacks Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. Rumors suggest that this new clamshell foldable will be more expensive than its predecessor, reflecting its advanced features and specifications.
Accompanying the Galaxy Z Flip6 in the certification are three LTE-enabled smartwatches. The first is the 40mm Samsung Galaxy Watch7, bearing the model number SM-L305F. A larger 44mm version of the Galaxy Watch7, identified by the model number SM-L315F, has also been certified.
Additionally, Samsung is introducing a new line with the Galaxy Watch Ultra (SM-L705F). Unlike previous models, the Galaxy Watch Ultra does not carry a numerical designation in its name, similar to the recently released Galaxy Watch FE. This raises questions about the naming convention for future models—whether they will be called “Watch2 Ultra” or “Watch Ultra 2” remains to be seen.
Interestingly, the model numbers for the new watches have shifted from using an “R” to an “L.” For instance, the 40mm Galaxy Watch6 was labeled SM-R940. While this change is intriguing, it is not expected to impact the functionality of the devices.
The certification of these devices by the NBTC is a crucial step towards their launch, hinting that consumers can expect their release soon. Samsung’s commitment to innovation is evident in the anticipated high-tech features of these upcoming devices.
In addition to these certifications, anticipation is building for Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 10. Industry insiders expect the official unveiling of the Galaxy Z Flip6 and the new smartwatches at this event. Samsung has a history of using Galaxy Unpacked to showcase its latest technology and innovations, and this year’s event is expected to be no different, offering an in-depth look at these cutting-edge devices and potentially revealing other surprises.
