Saturday rain unlikely as Islamabad heats up

Islamabad, April 26, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting only a low chance of rainfall in Islamabad on Saturday.

Despite some indications of unstable weather patterns, the likelihood of rain remains at 30%, with expectations of partly cloudy skies accompanied by wind, thunderstorms, and possibly isolated hailstorms. However, these weather events are not expected to significantly impact the overall dry conditions forecast for the federal capital.

According to PMD, residents of Islamabad should expect generally dry weather on Saturday, although slight variations may be observed in some pockets around the city. The advisory suggests keeping an umbrella handy, but chances are slim that Saturday will bring substantial precipitation to Islamabad.

Meanwhile, AccuWeather has painted a much warmer picture for the city, not only for Saturday but for the coming days as well. The temperature on Saturday is expected to reach a high of 37°C, with a low of 19°C at night. Although the chance of rain remains virtually nonexistent, a gentle northern breeze at 11 km/h may bring slight relief.

The RealFeel® temperature on Saturday is projected to touch 38°C, indicating how intense the heat will actually feel to people exposed to direct sunlight. The UV index is forecast to be 10, categorized as “very high,” meaning extra caution is advised for those venturing outdoors during peak sun hours.

Looking ahead, Islamabad is in for a prolonged hot spell. Sunday through Wednesday will see temperatures steadily climbing, with highs touching 41°C by midweek. No rain is expected during this period, and the RealFeel® temperatures will continue to hover above 40°C, posing a risk of dehydration and heatstroke.

Saturday marks the beginning of what may be an extended period of extreme heat for Islamabad. Authorities advise residents to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure, and take necessary precautions against the blazing temperatures expected not only on Saturday but throughout the coming week in Islamabad.
